We (family group of six, all ages) stayed at the property for 2 nights, after having visited the Catania and Etna area for 5 days. The location is perfect for relaxation, the welcome was warm and overall we enjoyed the stay very much, all of us. Liked: - whole setting on a small hill overlooking the olivetree landscape and the sea further away - the infrastructure: pool, sunbeds 'thai-style' with sunsheds about the pool and terrace - rooms: newly appointed with basic but stylish amenities30 May 2009
This is an ideal place for a 2 or 3 night stay if you are active and longer if you are not !! It has a lovely swimming pool, masses of sunloungers and comfortable day beds to relax on and it is spread out so you are always private. The rooms are large and comfortable with flat screen TV (if you so desire) and DVD and CD players. The views are fantastic. However the charm is not in the real estate but in the people. I have stayed at many lovely small hotels but have never felt more completely welcome. Paola, Roberta and Jan could not have made us more at home. Nothing was too much trouble and somebody was always around to see to your every need. The triumph however is in the kitchen. We stayed for three nights. The first night was very nice but probably not special - strangely the only night with a laminated menu - with retrospect perhaps an easy day for Chef Jan but the second and third nights were legendary. One night a tuna banquet. The next night was seafood again - with sardines, then spaghetti with mussels and prawns and then a sea bass dish that was the highlight of my holiday. We were welcome in the kitchen and introduced to the food so if you were unhappy with any selection it was no problem to produce something else. Around is the town of Noto which is worth a visit. The coastline is lovely with an easy walk just across the main road from the hotel (you will need a car).
