Hi, it has been the usual post-vacation chaos here in my office and at home. But that is no excuse for not writing. Forgive me.
Thank you so much for all your help in making my 60th and Jane's 50th birthdays so memorable.
It wasn't the incredible weather we had, which helped. It was the villa and its surroundings, and the food, and the help we got from Massimo and the bus for the Modica tour. It was all just perfect.
Thanks for the tips on the cake - the 'OMG' (oh my god!) experience of eating it still comes up at dinners all over Stockholm.
And finally, I want to thank you, from all of us, for sharing your piece of paradise. And what a piece it is.

Dear all, yesterday was perfect! The Modica tour was glorious and the chocolate factory experience was fun for all of us. The sun was doing its duty - bright and warm all day. We had time for some shopping and hiking around - some of us actually made it from Modica Bassa up to Modica Alta. Ricardo was an excellent driver and Rosanna was an exceptional tour-guide. Then we all had a totally relaxing afternoon before the evening's feast and dance/pool party. A couple of us took a walk out to SP25 and across toward Villa Paradise up on the hill. Then we stopped at the pizzeria on the way back and had fun chatting in multiple languages with a very interesting older gentleman. Then the birthday dinner for Jane and me. Massimo and the chef did you proud!! So good and so satisfying - all enjoyed the food, and enjoyed the experience of having a real Sicilian chef preparing our dinner - all 5 courses - here in the big house. And there were so many of us going 'Oh My God' when they starting eating the cake. Thanks for the tip! Thank you so much for all the help. Stina and I are already discussing a week next September. I have so much stress during the summer months with my work and a stay here at Villa Azucena is the medicine I need to survive the coming months in Sweden. We will be in touch I'm sure. Grazie mille! Nuestra estancia en villa azucena ha sido la mejor estancia que hemos tenido hasta la fecha. La villa es muy hermosa, está en un emplazamiento tranquilo y las cercanías son bellísimas, en concreto Ragusa, Módica, Noto y Siracusa. Pero lo mejor de la villa es cariño y las atenciones de Maximo y Iovanna que silenciosamente lo han mantenido todo en perfecto estado, nos han atendido en todo lo que hemos necesitado y nos han hecho sentirnos a todos, un grupo de 29 personas, muy cómodos. En nombre de toda mi familia quisiera darles las gracias. Ha sido una estancia que ninguno olvidaremos. Ana

Un grand merci pour cette extraordinaire prestation et pour un séjour dans une villa exceptionnelle. Décor fabuleux, séjour idyllique. Une pensée particulière pour le dévouement et la gentillesse de Massimo. Un autre grand merci à Rita pour son intervention dans la recherche de nos bagages. Une succession de qualités et de bien-êtres qui nous feront sans aucun doute revenir dans cette île magnifique.

Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness while we stayed at your beautiful villa. We could not have possibly found a better place from which to experience the beauty of the Sicilian countryside. Our group could not have asked for anything better. The house, the area...everything was perfect. We hope that this first trip will be the start of many more return visits to your villa. The cook's dinners made each night a feast and we truly appreciate all her hard work. We all very much hope to see you again soon!

La struttura era ottima ed esattamente in linea alle nostre aspettative così come l'accoglienza riservataci da Massimo, la persona che era sul posto. Unico minimo neo è l'assenza di tende oscuranti alle porte e alle finestre delle camere; quelle presenti filtrano molto poco la luce esterna e la camere sono completamente illuminate sin dalla prima mattina. Grazie ancora per il servizio

P.S. a seguito dell'osservazione del nostro cliente sulle tende stiamo raddopiando lo spessore delle tende per limitare la luce, se necessario metteremo delle tende oscuranti/scure. Per il momento vorremmo restare nello stile delle tende color pietra naturale piu' pesanti e doppie - il nostro architetto non vede bene le tende scure in quegli ambienti! Per essere precisi le camere con luce diretta al mattino sono solo due, la numero 2 e la numero 5, tutte le altre sono esposte a sud ovest.

Vi scrivo per dirle quanto abbiamo apprezzato il nostro soggiorno a Villa Azucena!  Per tutto il nostro "multiforme e multilingue" gruppo è stata un'occasione unica potere gustare una vacanza tutti insieme in uno spazio così accogliente, tranquillo, ma ricercato ed elegante.
La casa ha il grande pregio di offrire ogni comodità, ordine e pulizia, ma al contempo regala agli ospiti la percezione della terra siciliana: nella nuda pietra degli edifici, nella cocente calura del mezzogiorno e nella piacevole brezza della sera, nel brusio estivo della campagna, nei profumi intensi della vegetazione, nella bella e folta chioma dei carrubi....

Il tempo ci ha, poi, regalato bellissime giornate calde, ma terse e luminose, proprio perfette per le vacanze.

Abbiamo seguito i vostri consigli nei nostri itinerari: dalle spiagge, alle visite artistiche, ai ristoranti!!
Grazie per i preziosi consigli: ci hanno davvero dato la possibilità di godere al meglio di tutto ciò che offre il territorio e anche, moltissimo, della sua ottima cucina.
Ci è mancato il tempo per fare, però, un itinerario completo e abbiamo mancato alcune tappe suggerite, perciò ci rimane il desiderio di una seconda visita...

On behalf of all, I wish to thank you for extending your villa to us this past week.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  The villa provided us a majestic spot to unwind and relax from our travels around Sicily.  It is beautifully maintained and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.  I must say that we were so impressed with Massimo -  he was incredibly welcoming, professional and seemed to be working around the clock keeping the villa up to your high standards.
