One of the most beautiful dammusi on the Island, for its superb position as well as for elegance indoors and the overall setup of its stunning outdoor space: a breathtaking view on the Mediterranean foaming around Pantelleria’s trademark rock formation called the “Elephant” and a truly ancient dammuso which has lost none of its rural charm though being perfectly well appointed and having all of today’s comforts. The rocky garden, abundantly planted with olive, palm and pine trees, and the superb swimming pool overlooking the sea and shaded with a cane trellis will ensure a truly unique holiday experience.

The property is on the Eastern side of the Island and from its elevated position dominates the ragged coastline with its many bays of dazzlingly blue water and Pantelleria’s trademark rock formation called the “Elephant”. From the small private parking lot and through flowering Mediterranean bushes a trail leads up to the main house, a splendid traditional dammuso which is truly unique for its comfort, its elegance and the sheer beauty of its surroundings: A stunning terrace with table and chairs, shaded by a big palm tree and surrounded by flowering bougainvillea bushes gives access to the generous kitchen all done in grey concrete and with a gorgeous vaulted  ceiling, a comfortable room with big center table and chairs; an open doorway leads into the elegantly furnished living room with TV set, couch and overstuffed chairs and a big window which embraces the incredible panorama of sea and sky beyond. The same view is offered also by the equally elegant double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom with shower and a door to the terrace outside. Another trail leads from the terrace to the guest apartment in the second dammuso which offers room for four and is cunningly hidden from the main house by luxuriant Mediterranean shrubbery. The entrance door leads directly into the first bedroom (2 single beds) and beyond, a small hallway with wall closet and fridge gives access to the bathroom and the separate shower stall. Here also everything is well cared for, the furnishings are simple but of excellent taste. The last room is the double bedroom, where a glass door leads outside onto the small terrace with table and chairs offering the same breathtaking view which is the main feature of the property. On the left is a beautiful pergola of molded iron overhung by an enormous bougainvillea plant in various hues of violet and fuchsia, and on the right is the stunning pool with its sun deck done in smooth concrete, its tiny “beach” featuring black rocks and cane plants and the big pine trees in whose shade you may enjoy Pantelleria’s own fragrance, silence and extravagant, untamed nature.  

Pantelleria is a volcanic island characterized by the extraordinary singularity of the landscape where natural elements, such as rock lava flows, coves and stacks blend with man made works built to live and to reap great harvest : dry stone walls used as retaining walls for terracing, as field boundaries and to protect fields from the wind; Pantelleria gardens,cylindrical and permanent lava stone structures  to protect citruses from wind and to regulate micro-climatic effects and finally the typical dammusi, stony and cubical habitations with thick dry stone walls, white domed roofs and round arch-shaped openings, atavic exemples of bioclimatic architecture.
Arabs named Pantelleria "the island of wind "as gentle breezes blow almost continually, keeping the temperature cool also in the summer months. Its biodiversity has been protected to preserve its unique and extraordinary charm so that the traveller becomes part of the landscape, where everything (or almost everything) is unchanged, its slow pace, its wild and rough nature, the colour of the sea which varies from cobalt blue to green emerald, the evocative scents of  mediterranean plants, the deep blue hue of "Lo Specchio di Venere" (Venus' Looking Glass- a volcanic lake fed by thermal springs), the enhanced colours of the sky at the sunset will impress your soul making your holiday unforgettable.
