A 16th century Norman watch tower located in the middle of a beautiful Mediterranean garden and surrounded by palm trees, cycas, oleanders and bougainvilleas. The tower sits perched on a rock with a spectacular sea view looking directly over a deserted beach and a crystal clear blue sea! Is this going to be the location of Tornatore’s next film? It could indeed but it could also be the place where you will spend a wonderful, truly unforgettable holiday. Any other words to describe this place are superfluous, we just add that as soon as we saw it our first thought was to spend here our next holiday! Will you be among the lucky few ones?

The present owners purchased the tower in the 70's, when the structure was in very bad condition. With patience and enthusiasm they started to restore it. The works still continue today as the owners strive for perfection. The tower is a three-storey building with a floor area of approximately fifty square meters on each floor: on the first floor there is a living room with a fireplace, a sofa bed, a cooking area and a bathroom with entrance from the outside. On the second floor there is a double bedroom with two windows with sea views (one facing north, the other north-east), another bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a bathroom with shower. On the third floor there is a large bedroom with two double beds and a comfortable bathroom with shower. A steep and narrow stairway leads to the terrace at the top of the tower from where there is a breathtaking view!. The furniture is simple. The tower has no air conditioning (really not necessary due to the location and structure of the tower), is free from mosquitoes and enjoys the benefit of a wonderful sea breeze. Inside the house it remains cool due to the very thick walls which are up to two metres thick in some parts. One of the reasons for choosing this house is to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the sea! Outside there is a well-maintained 3,000 square metre garden with a lawn, a large terrace with a dinner table and a fully-equipped kitchen as well as a barbecue. There is also a shaded parking area for four cars. A stairway leads down to the shingle beach that is deserted even in August because it can only be accessed from the house or from the sea. The building stands in an isolated position surrounded by green vegetation. In the surrounding area there is only a small house (very well concealed) and a converted railway station where the owners spend their holidays.

The building is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Sicily’s northern coast between Castel di Tusa (at 4.5 kilometres), Finale di Pollina and Cefalù which is only 19 kilometres away. This spot is in the centre of northern Sicily from where one can easily reach a number of places of interest: Cefalù, Santo Stefano di Camastra (renowned for its beautiful ceramics), Tindari, the Nature Reserves of the Madonie and of the Nebrodi; in an hour’s drive it is possible to reach Palermo on one side and Etna and Taormina on the other. At this point you are spoilt for choice in terms of places to visit but we are sure that you will be tempted to stay in the house to admire the wonderful sunsets or gaze at the beautiful tower illuminated at night under a covering of stars and imagine falling prey to pirates!

A canoe is available for use by guests. Immediate necessities (drinking water, soap and toilet paper) ara available to guests upon arrival.
