Taormina (ME)

Only five minutes on foot from the centre of Taormina, this is a quiet location with a stunning view of Mount Etna. However, the surprises in this historic house don't end here. Inside the house has been furnished with style and almost obsessive attention to detail. Among the treasures of this historical house are the beautiful ceiling made from reeds, the elevated double bed in the master bedroom which affords a breathtaking view of the volcano (especially when it’s erupting) and the hidden corners around the garden amongst the orange and lemon trees. This spot is ideal for those who want to leave the car and walk around the town to discover the more fascinating views of Taormina or take the cable car down to the sea!
The house is spread over 3 levels. On the ground floor, accessed by an external staircase from the garden, there is a bright and spacious sitting room with fireplace, air conditioning and great views of the valley, the gulf of Taormina and the volcano Etna; a twin-bedded bedroom, a bedroom with a double bed and its own terrace (also with view of Etna) and a bathroom with shower. From a small hallway in front of the bedroom access is gained to the first floor where there is a beautiful bedroom with double bed and air conditioning, an ensuite bathroom with bath tub and a breathtaking view on the rooftops of Taormina as far as the volcano Etna! All the bedrooms are provided with air-conditioning. Downstairs there is another sitting room with fireplace and a large terrace where you can have breakfast or a candlelit dinner. Next to this area is a big traditional Sicilian kitchen with a dining area, a dining table that seats six and a small television set. Below the terrace there is a small garden area with beautiful, shady citrus trees.
Taormina is the most fashionable and well-known town on the island, not only for its architectural treasures (among them the Greek theatre which is still in use in the Summer as a concert venue) but also for its daily life and fashionable nightspots. We think that you will enjoy to the full the beauties of this small town and its delightful coast (Isola Bella and surroundings). There are also many interesting places to visit in the local area if you don't want to travel too far, including Mount Etna, the Alcantara Gorges, the Nebrodi mountains and Caltagirone which is famous for its ceramics.
