The intense, heady aroma of rosemary and sage, the bright blue sky, the bare land illuminated by the sun, the breath of the warm Scirocco wind, the refreshing emerald water of the swimming pool - welcome to the deep south of Sicily, in front of you lies Africa! The house is a typical early twentieth-century farmhouse, still used partly as a working farm and stable for the horses.

The house is composed of three independent units, each with its own entrance. There are two apartments on the ground floor. The first is called "Stalla" and comprises a living room with dining area and a sofa bed for 2 people, a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room (both with air conditioning), a comfortable bathroom with shower and a kitchen with a small dining table. The second apartment is called "Pollaio" and comprises a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room (with air conditioning), a bathroom with shower and a small passage way from which you can access the terrace at the rear of the house. A staircase leads to the mezzanine floor which comprises an open space with a double bed and a desk. On the ground floor there is also a delightful traditional kitchen with a large air conditioning unit which is capable of cooling the adjoining double bedroom. At the front of the property there is a large open area which looks onto the surrounding hills and onto the swimming pool (6 x 12 metres), complete with gazebo and a lovely wrought-iron shower. The third apartment is located on the first floor which is accessed via a staircase located at the rear of the property. This apartment is called "Fienile" and comprises a living room with fireplace and dining table, a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with four beds in the form of two bunk beds and air conditioning, a large kitchen with a dining table and a bathroom with bathtub and shower. From the living room there is access to a large terrace with views of the surrounding hills which is equipped with a barbeque and large stone dining table (16 seats) which makes an ideal spot in which to enjoy candlelit dinners in the balmy spring and summer evenings. A number of comfortable armchairs are located in a corner of the terrace and from this corner it is possible to see the large inner courtyard of the house and the stalls that house the horses. In front of the house there is a large garden with a solarium a 6 x 12 metre swimming pool, a shady gazebo and an outside shower. The owners have paid great attention to detail and the furnishings are simple but tasteful. The house is constructed completely in stone and has thick walls which make the rooms pleasantly cool.

The property is located 2 km from Raffadali where you can find shops and supermarkets and taste the delicious almond pastries typical of the area in the town’s famous bars and cafes. Nearby there are also two excellent restaurants and several pizzerias. The village itself doesn’t offer any particular attractions but the location of the house allows you to visit the famous Valley of the Temples (15 km) and the many beautiful beaches in the area as well as Siculiana Marina (18 km) and Eraclea Minoa (33 km), the Nature Reserve of Torre Salsa, the Reserve of the river Platani and the amazing white cliffs and beaches of Scala dei Turchi. The location is ideal also for visits to Piazza Armerina (Villa del Casale) and the south-western part of the island.

The prices published for 6 and 12 persons refer to rental of one or two apartments, NOT FOR EXCLUSIVE USE.
The price for 18 persons is for EXCLUSIVE USE of the entire property.
The swimming pool is open from 1st April to 31st October.

An external Jacuzzi for 5 people is available for use by guests at a cost of Euros 20.00 for a half day or Euros 30.00 for a whole day.
