A quiet and very Sicilian atmosphere awaits you here in this property which is intimately connected to the territory of Sicily. The old farmhouse, built in the middle of the 19th century, has been skilfully restored by the current owners who have managed to retain its original character. Mandarin, orange and lemon groves covering an area of approximately 5,000 square metres surround the magnificent 12 x 7 metre swimming pool which has borders made from white Modica stone. There is an old terrace amongst the citrus trees: its stone seats and ancient water channel will inspire trips down memory lane. The villa is situated on the slopes of the volcano Etna, a few kilometers from the sea, in an ideal position to visit the treasures of Eastern Sicily.

Outdoors there are numerous secluded and shady spots in which to relax, even during the heat of the day. In front of the house there is a beautiful courtyard, shaded by an enormous mulberry tree under which there are two dining tables and some comfortable chairs. Close by, but in a separated area lives Sumith, the custodian. He’s very respectful of guests' privacy and can be of assistance in case of need. On the ground floor there are a number of inter-connected rooms: the old winery (which remains virtually intact), a room with billiards and a huge stone fireplace, 3 rooms which form a large living room with various sofas and a spacious dining room connected to a large, traditional Sicilian kitchen. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom (with WC, hand basin and bidet) and a small study from which access is gained, via a small staircase, to the first floor where you will find a triple bedroom (1 double bed and 1 single bed) and ensuite bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a bedroom with a queen-size bed with access via a small wooden staircase to the terrace. From the terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of the countryside as far as the sea. All the rooms are cooled by a central air conditioning system.

First of all we recommend that you enjoy the atmosphere of the small Sicilian villages on the slopes of Etna (Viagrande, San Giovanni la Punta, San Gregorio, Zafferana Etnea). This is naturally an ideal location from which to visit the volcano (even by Jeep or helicopter) but it is also extremely easy to get to the coast (there are numerous beaches in the area): Taormina (30 minutes by car), the Alcantara Gorges, Siracusa, Caltagirone (city of ceramics), Cavagrande on the river Cassibile, and a little bit further away, the gorgeous Baroque valley of Noto.

The use of the swimming pool and billiard table are included in the price. All the bedrooms upstairs are equipped with a central air conditioning system.  At the ground floor there is a large air conditioner in the dining room. Immediate necessities (drinking water, soap, toilet paper) are available to guests upon arrival. On demand a chef is available to arrange meals.

The swimming pool is open from 1st April to 30th October. It is also possible to use the pool outside this period upon payment of an additional charge of Euros 280 per week.
