Donna Franca is an aristocratic villa built inside the grounds of a luxuriant, noble estate with magnificent views of the volcano Etna – if you are lucky you might get a chance to witness the unique sight of the volcano erupting at night! The house has been constructed recently and is equipped with all modern amenities. The garden in front of the lawn contains a large gazebo and a solarium in teak with a 6 x 11 metre swimming pool. The surrounding grounds are planted with vines which produce an excellent wine from grapes of the Syrah and Merlot varieties.

Attention to the smallest detail provides guests with the maximum degree of comfort and opportunity for relaxation. The house comprises 5 double bedrooms (4 of which can be converted into twin-bedded rooms if required) each with a private bathroom with shower, a large living room with an imposing stone fireplace and a dining room with an American-style kitchen. Access to a mezzanine floor with two single beds and a bathroom with shower is gained via a small stairway from the living room. The house is elegantly furnished with individual pieces of the highest quality, some of which are original. The real jewel of the house, however, is the roof which is typical of this part of Sicily and is constructed with chestnut beams and a ceiling covered with reeds. This method of construction has been used for centuries in Sicily to protect houses from the heat during summer and today creates a unique atmosphere. Outside there is a patio which provides splendid views of the 4,000 square metre garden with its ancient olive and lemon trees.

Taormina is undoubtedly the premier resort on the eastern side of the island with its elegant shops, restaurants and public places. The pearl of Taormina is the Greek theatre with its stunning natural backdrop: the volcano Etna! Etna is without doubt the prime attraction in this part of Sicily, however, to see the volcano it is necessary to organise a tour with a specialist guide who will take you to the crater on foot, by Jeep or even by helicopter! In addition to the volcano there are other wonderful sights and places of interest to visit in the area and a week will likely be insufficient if you would also like to enjoy the sea and the wonderful beaches of Fiumefreddo (awarded Blue Flag status in 2010 by the Italian environmental association) and Isola Bella. Also not to be missed are the grottoes of the Alcantara river, the "Picciolo" golf course, Caltagirone and its marvellous ceramics, the Baroque towns of Noto, Modica, Ragusa Ilba, Ispica, Militello in Val di Catania and the Palazzolo Acreide.

The house is equipped with central heating in addition to the large fireplace in the living room. All the rooms have air conditioning and a fridge. The garden has an underground watering system for the plants. The bathrooms have an innovative lighting system which captures natural light and directs it through a series of mirrors to areas where it is required. Services included: electricity consumption up to 400 kw, washing of towels and bed linen once per week, cleaning for 2 hours per day, final cleaning, daily cleaning of the swimming pool, cutting of the lawn once per week, covered parking area, satellite TV in all the rooms (majority English, American, French, German and Italian channels with a possibility also to receive channels from other parts of the world), bar and ice making machine (up to 10 kg at a time), 45 kwh power supply, 24 hour assistance in case of problems or emergencies.

Extra services: professional cook at a cost of Euros 150 per dinner for up to 8 people or Euros 200 for 9 - 12 people, including final cleaning and shopping but excluding the cost of food and drinks; cleaning service Euros 15.00 per hour; driver (cost to be agreed); guide (cost to be agreed).
