This traditional farmhouse or 'baglio' has belonged to the same family for seven generations and has recently been listed as an historic farmhouse in the area of Trapani, one of the foremost wine-producing regions in Sicily. The farmhouse is located in a prominent position near to Alcamo, immersed in ancient woodland and surrounded by vines which produce the grapes (primarily Cataratto and Insolia) used to create some of Sicily’s finest white wines. The farmhouse comprises a central courtyard around which the stalls, the chapel and the principal residence have been constructed. The property covers an area of more than 70,000 square metres. Located within the beautiful gardens which surround the property is a spectacular 7.5 x 4.5 metre swimming pool which has been converted from an ancient water tank.

The principal residence looks out onto a luxuriant and historic garden planted out with typical Mediterranean flora which includes eucalyptus trees, pine trees, magnolias, fig trees, palms and mulberry trees. The garden can be admired from the stunning 300 square metre terrace which is covered in beautiful 18th century Sicilian majolica tiles. A selection of garden chairs and a dining table and chairs for ten people are located on the terrace which is shaded until three o’clock in the afternoon. There are some wonderful secluded spots to be found in the garden and two magnificent fountains. On the ground floor of the principal residence a large entrance hall leads to the kitchen through a small corridoor which also provides access to a small toilet. Another hallway provides access to the living and dining rooms which are located next to the terrace. Located on the same floor is a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with bath (this room normally remains closed but can be made available to guests upon request and payment of an additional fee). The first floor comprises: a bedroom with double bed ("Blu") and en suite bathroom with access via a small corridoor; this bathroom is shared with another bedroom ("Maria Beatrice") which has twin beds; a bedroom with double bed ("Rosa"), a bedroom with twin beds ("Fiori Rossi") and a bathroom, two further bedrooms ("Peria" and "Celeste") each with a single bed, provided with air conditioning, and two more bathrooms with a bath. There are a further two connecting rooms, "Arancio" with a single bed and two sofas which can be used as single beds but which have dimensions slightly smaller than normal (75x180 cm) and "Lilla" with a single sofa bed of standard dimensions. On the same floor there is a hall, a living room, a dining room and a large, well-equipped terrace with sea views. A small stairway leads from this floor to the small tower, provided with air conditioning, which contains a bedroom with a double bed ("Bianca) and a bedroom with a single bed ("Azzurra").

The 'baglio' is located a few kilometres from Alcamo in an area which is dedicated to the cultivation of high-quality grapes for production of wine. Numerous historic wineries are located in the area including the Florio and Pellegrino wineries which can be found by following the itinerary of the wine route. The Zingaro Nature reserve with its beautiful, unspoilt coastline and the wonderful white sandy beaches of San Vito Lo Capo are located approximately 20 kilometres from the property. There are many attractions in the area for lovers of culture including Selinunte, Segesta, the island of Mozia, the medieval hill top town of Erice, the Egadi islands (which can be reached in 20 minutes by ferry) and the salt pans of Trapani.

Change of bedlinen and towels twice per week and the services of a cook can be booked upon request.
